PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Richard Dell’s career spans more than 3 decades of designing, securing entitlements and developing major architectural projects. Mr. Dell’s experience in numerous public agency presentations augments his architecture and development expertise for producing projects proven to be aesthetically, functionally and financially rewarding. As Partner in charge of MDM's Pasadena Studio, he directs feasibility studies, strategic and master planning and architectural solutions for city, county and state approvals. He also leads the design and site planning process for the commercial/medical/multi-family housing/recreational projects of the firm. Richard Dell brings to his clients the unique combination of a creative, design-oriented Principal well versed in the complex entitlement processes of today’s projects and with the ability to set and meet realistic budgets and schedules. Mr. Dell is the Executive Architect leading the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool Revitalization, principal in charge/co-project manager on the San Fernando Regional Aquatic Facility and the City of San Buenaventura’s Westside Pool Facility. He lead the design team for the Green Valley Medical Office Building and the programming/ renovation team for Alpha Therapeutics Corp. Blood Plasma facility. His expertise in planning and entitlements assisted Bob Hope Enterprises successfully through the city of Burbank’s development process for the Bob Hope Center. Through MDM's many clients requiring governmental interfacing and as former Chairman of the City of Glendale's Historical Preservation Commission, Mr. Dell has networked and developed close professional relationships with numerous City and County governments and agencies. Mr. Dell has made numerous presentations to City Councils, Homeowners Groups, Business Groups and other project related entities. Notable among these presentations were those made to hostile Malibu homeowner groups for the Pepperdine University Senior Retirement Project and the many presentations made for the landmark Bob Hope Center. Richard regards community service as an important part of his life and volunteers for numerous local charities and service organizations.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Jim McClelland is Partner/Managing Director of MDM's Northern California Studio. He also directs the firm’s major Retail / Retail Center projects. Mr. McClelland’s expertise is working with clients to develop innovative, flexible and cost effective retail projects that are also "user-friendly". His capabilities include all phases of project development, from site feasibility to budget setting to grand opening. He has been an active ICSC member for the past two decades and participates in the organization’s programs on a regular basis. His expertise includes concept design for a variety of project types and clients. Mr. McClelland is team leader for several large scale developments and retail complexes in the East Bay area including 3 projects for a major national retailer and the 100-acre Mountain House Business Park development. He was also the team leader for the 12 acre, Evergreen Village Square project, featuring over 170,000 s.f. of retail anchored by a high end specialty supermarket. Included in his portfolio are numerous roll-out programs such as Starbucks and Blockbuster, and recreational projects including master planning for a new high school aquatic facility slated for construction in 2010 and the design-build Monterey Youth Center, and site planning and concept documents for the 2.5 acre, 96 unit-multi-family Aptos Plaza in Milpitas. MDM has successfully provided design build services for a number of diverse projects under his guidance. As an active member of the Walnut Creek community, Mr. McClelland serves on the Northgate H.S. PRIDE Foundation Board and is guiding the organization through the development of a swimming venue at the high school. He currently serves as the high schools Men’s Water Polo Team Coach. Mr. McClelland utilizes the architectural knowledge gained during his 25 years of experience and his successful team building coaching experience to the benefit of MDM’s clients. From the large land developer to the single use retail store owner, to the multi-family builder, all can be assured of successful end results.
