About MDM

FIRM PROFILE

Richard Dell founded his original firm in 1980.  In 1999 the opportunity to join forces with two long-time architects and friends resulted in the formation of Maple Dell + McClelland Architects, LLP (now known as MDM Architects, LLP).  Today, Richard Dell and James McClelland lead the firm with shared visions and approaches to architecture; each understands that client expectations are opportunities to innovate and design in a fresh light with each new project.  With this approach they have been successful in meeting client expectations and enhancing lives through the built environment. Viewing architecture as a collaborative process with service to our clients as a fundamental commitment, MDM brings experience in a variety of project types and skills to our clients through this process.

Project types embrace retail centers, commercial and medical office buildings, multi-family housing (both affordable and market rate), recreational / aquatic facilities, manufacturing plants and government facilities.  Our goal, whatever the project type, is to assist our clients in improving their business and operational performance through their built environment.

Each of our capable and creative staff professionals are selected to work on projects where they can contribute to the project’s success and grow professionally.  For client convenience, MDM has offices in Pasadena and Walnut Creek and currently holds architectural licenses in 14 states.
